Privacy
Your privacy, and the safety that depends on it.
People trust us with information that can put them at risk. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we try to protect it. Last updated: October 2026.
What we collect
- Submissions. When you use the reporting form, we store what you choose to send: your account, category, date and place of an incident, and any contact details you decide to leave. Name and contact are optional.
- Contact messages. Name (optional), email, subject and message from the contact form.
- Basic technical data. Our web server may log connection data such as IP address and browser type as part of normal operation, and to prevent abuse of the forms.
How we handle submissions
- Human review first. Nothing you send is published automatically. A person reviews every submission before any part of it could appear on The Wall.
- Consent controls publication. We publish only what you have agreed to share, and we will deliberately omit details, locations, routes, names of witnesses, that could endanger a living person.
- Anonymity. You may submit with no name and no contact details. We do not require identity to receive a report.
- IP handling. To deter spam and abuse while limiting the data we hold, our reporting form stores only a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address, not the address itself.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or share your submission with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site.
- We do not publish your contact details unless you explicitly ask us to.
- We do not hand over data to identify a source except where we would be legally compelled, and we will tell you if we are ever able to.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not set advertising cookies. If we add privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics in future, we will say so here. Server logs exist for security and are not used to profile visitors.
Archiving, search engines and third parties
Pages on this site carry noarchive and nosnippet instructions to discourage third parties from storing or republishing copies, and our robots rules ask web archives not to crawl the site. We cannot guarantee how every third party will behave, and we cannot control what people do with screenshots they take themselves. Assume anything you post publicly could be copied.
To host the site and its forms, we use a web-hosting provider. Their own privacy practices apply to the infrastructure. Fonts are served from Google Fonts; if you prefer to avoid that, we may in future self-host fonts.
Your choices and rights
- You can ask us what we hold about you and request correction of factual errors.
- You can ask us to remove a submission or your contact details. Where we can, we will, though once something is public and copied elsewhere, our ability to recall it is limited.
- You can submit to us without giving any identifying information at all.
Children
This site is not directed at children. If you are arranging support for a child, please do so through a responsible adult or a lawyer.
